Lost Army Laptop
The Sun has reported that an Army laptop “packed with secret information” has been handed to them after it was left in a pub. All security breaches are taken extremely seriously and the MOD and the Army will be investigating this incident as a matter of urgency.
Compensation for injuries
It has been reported that the father of a Serviceman who was injured in Iraq has attacked the Government because his son’s compensation has not been increased despite changes to the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme. We do not comment on individual cases but the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme is a no-fault scheme which, for the first time, provides a lump sum payment in service and, for more serious injury, a regular, tax-free index-linked payment. This can amount to hundreds of thousands of pounds over a lifetime.
