ISAF Joint Command morning operational update: 31 October 2012

Afghan Provincial Response Company Ghazni, enabled by coalition forces, seized a large cache of homemade explosives during a search operation in Ghazni province yesterday.  Following the operation the Afghan and coalition force destroyed the cache, which contained 300 kilograms (660 pounds) of potassium chlorate – a known explosive – along with detonation cords and initiators.

An Afghan and ISAF partnered force discovered and seized six victim-operated IEDs with power sources in a compound during a dismounted patrol in Kandahar province yesterday. The IEDs were successfully dismantled by the combined force.
