We are not quite on boat yet. Waiting. So we came to a hut for breakfast. Am thinking they are short on Hollandaise.
Driver has very word Bible. I photographed my Grandfather’s long ago.
Am now with Panama Missions. Diane Edrington is leading this mission. Diane is a nurse and previously worked for NASA.
Diane has been coming every few months for about 20 years, but more often in recent years, for a total, Diane reckons, maybe a hundred times. Everywhere we go people know Diane.
Francisco is a medical doctor and flew in from Honduras two days ago. He says it’s very dangerous in Tegucigalpa.
We are all going with Embera to Embera village.
Remember what I learned in Special Forces: Missionaries know Everything. Missionaries have sticking power. Whenever I find a clinic or library or a remote jungle school in Burma or Nepal or Name It — 90pct chance this is the work of missionaries. Missionaries due more work with fewer resources than you might imagine. For the money that USG will use to build an office, missionaries will put a thousand children through school, and plenty more through university.
